山口県を拠点に活動する橋本崇広を中心としたプロジェクト impressionists が、2025年リリース予定の2ndアルバムに先駆けて放つ1stシングル。前作のアンビエント作品 『余白』 から大きく表現の幅を広げた今作では、3人それぞれのプレイヤーとしての魅力をじっくりと味わえる仕上がりとなっている。幕開けを告げるのは、静謐なアンビエントを基調とした「daytime moon」。続く「from here」は、impressionistsとして初めてのボーカル曲であり、シングルのタイトルを冠する象徴的な一曲。そして、Droneのような重厚さときらめきをあわせ持つ「tapeB」へと続く。全3曲が、2ndアルバムへの期待を高める多彩なアプローチを提示しつつ、ひとつの作品としても強い存在感を放っている。
Centered around Takahiro Hashimoto and based in Yamaguchi, impressionists unveil their first single, a prelude to the second album set for release in 2025. Expanding far beyond the ambient soundscapes of their previous work “Yohaku”, this new release highlights the individuality and artistry of each of the three members, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in their performances. The journey begins with the serene, ambient-driven “daytime moon,” followed by “from here” — the group’s very first vocal track and the title piece of the single. The closing track, “tapeB,” shimmers with a drone-like weight and resonance, offering a compelling contrast. Together, these three tracks not only heighten anticipation for the forthcoming second album but also stand as a strong and cohesive work in their own right.
